JANET STEINBERG, OFFICIAL BLOGGER FOR THE TRAVEL AUTHORITY, WINS HER 44th, 45th & 46th TRAVEL WRITING AWARDS
At its annual meeting in Amarillo, Texas, Central States Chapter of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW) announced the winners of its annual Chapter Writing and Photography Awards. Janet Steinberg’s blog TheTravelAuthority.blogspot.com was awarded honors in three categories.
Of her award-winning blog, in the BEST TRAVEL WEBSITE OR BLOG CATEGORY, the judges commented: “Fine and easily viewed”.
Of her award-winning article, “Travel Hotspots, Victims of Their Own Success” in the BEST TRAVEL ARTICLE IN A DIGITAL MEDIUM CATEGORY, the judges commented: “A unique idea — run towards the crowds. While most travel pieces are trying to find out-of-the-way places, this article encourages the reader to jump right into the fray then describes why it's worth it. Good job making those crowds seem less daunting.”
Of her award-winning article, “Travel Melds the Bitter with the Sweet”, in the BEST TRAVEL COMMENTARY CATEGORY, the judges commented: “A great collection of bitter-sweet remembrances from 30 years of traveling.”
Steinberg’s latest awards brings her total number of travel writing awards to 46...including: 3 Lowell Thomas Awards; Cipriani Award for Best Overall Writer of the Year; Henry E. Bradshaw Award for Best of Show in All Categories; Ohio Buckeye Travel Award; 17 Society of American Travel Writers (SATW) Awards and 23 Midwest Travel Writers Association (MTWA) Awards.
